Manifesto for a Better Children’s Internet

WHEN12:00pm - 1:00pm, 16 November, 2023 [AEST]
WHEREOnline

Join us as we introduce the concept of the ‘Children’s Internet’ and outline evidence-based principles for improving how children experience digital products and services. A better Children’s Internet is possible and essential and we are calling on industry, governments, parents and carers, and researchers to take action.

Michael Dezuanni and Aleesha Rodriguez will represent a team of researchers from across the ARC Centre of Excellence for the Digital Child to outline the six areas that ‘make up’ the Children’s Internet: Access, Imaginaries, Entertainment, Education, Regulation and Participation. They will provide aspirational solutions for creating a better Children’s Internet and will outline practical ways you can start to take make a difference.

The Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for the Digital Child acknowledges the First Australian owners of the lands on where we gather and pay our respects to the Elders, lores, customs and creation spirits of this country.

The Centre recognises that the examples we set in diversity and inclusion will support young children to respect and celebrate differences in all people. We embed diversity, inclusivity and equality into all aspects of the Centre’s activities and welcome all people regardless of race, ethnicity, social background, religion, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation and national origin.
