Dr Tara Roberson

Dr Tara Roberson is an experienced communicator with a background in research management and stakeholder engagement. She has worked professionally and in research in a range of areas with emphasis on responsible development of emerging technology, including quantum technologies and autonomous systems. 

She holds a PhD in science communication from the Australian National University (2020) as well as Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in communication (public relations and science communication) from the University of Queensland.

Tara is passionate about equity and diversity in higher education and STEM; she has previously co-edited a book on queering science communication and – for four years – worked on a university-wide Ally Action Committee and delivered LGBTIQA+ Ally training for staff. She is currently a member of the Science and Technology Australia Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee.
