Profile

Rebecca Hood

Rebecca’s research project examines the influence of mobile touch screen device use (smartphones and tablet computers) on parent-child attachment and child development. She recently published her first paper as a lead author in Ergonomics on the associations of mobile touch screen device use with parent-child attachment.

Rebecca hopes to contribute evidence-based knowledge that can be used to help guide parents and families to use technology in an optimal way. Her vision is for families to be better informed as to how to use technology in beneficial ways to enhance family interactions and relationships.

More People

The Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for the Digital Child acknowledges the First Australian owners of the lands on where we gather and pay our respects to the Elders, lores, customs and creation spirits of this country.

The Centre recognises that the examples we set in diversity and inclusion will support young children to respect and celebrate differences in all people. We embed diversity, inclusivity and equality into all aspects of the Centre’s activities and welcome all people regardless of race, ethnicity, social background, religion, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation and national origin.
