Profile

Dr Valeska Berg

With the aim of supporting children’s healthy development in the digital world, Valeska is investigating the digital identity of children aged 0-8 on social networking sites.

Valeska has developed the eFun app which measures executive functions and problem solving skills in primary school children. The app was designed to be child-friendly with the input from children, teachers, and researchers. Valeska has extensive experience in research and work with neurodiverse and typically developing children.

Earliest digital memory

My first digital memory is of my walkie talkies with which I would run through the German forest for hours, communicating with my best friend to solve serious forest crimes.

More People

The Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for the Digital Child acknowledges the First Australian owners of the lands on where we gather and pay our respects to the Elders, lores, customs and creation spirits of this country.

The Centre recognises that the examples we set in diversity and inclusion will support young children to respect and celebrate differences in all people. We embed diversity, inclusivity and equality into all aspects of the Centre’s activities and welcome all people regardless of race, ethnicity, social background, religion, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation and national origin.
